Mourinho has been sent to the stands! The United boss clearly had too much to say to the fourth official, and he's been given his marching orders by the referee, despite their only being 20 seconds left on the clock.
90' +3
D. Blind enters the game and replaces M. Rashford.
United have made a late substitution, with Rashford slowly making his way off the pitch to be replaced by Daley Blind.
90' +2
Yet another Southampton attacking move fails to result in a chance on goal for the hosts, and United counter-attack quickly. A hopeful pass is fired down the left wing and towards Lukaku, who tries to keep the ball in play but, despite his best efforts, isn't able to do so.
90'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be four minutes of added time.
88'
Ander Herrera gets yellow.
Herrera commits a clumsy challenge midway inside the United half of the pitch, resulting in a free-kick for the home side in a promising position. It's swung into a good area by Ward-Prowse and almost finds a team-mate, but Jones rises high to deal with the danger before being clattered into from behind by Smalling.
86'
Patient build-up play from Southampton almost presents Bertrand with a chance to whip in a cross from deep down the left flank, but he's put under good pressure by Herrera and has to settle for a throw-in instead.
84'
Redmond bursts into the United box and looks set to get a shot away, but he's put under pressure by Jones and ends up accidentally tripping the defender to the ground as they battle for the ball. He isn't at all happy with the decision, and the referee has to calm him down after he ends up screaming at the linesman.
83'
C. Austin enters the game and replaces S. Long.
J. Ward-Prowse enters the game and replaces Cédric Soares.
Southampton have made a double switch as they desperately try to find a late equaliser. The first player to come on is Charlie Austin, who replaces Long up top.
And the second is James Ward-Prowse, who takes the place of Cedric.
82'
R. Lukaku gets yellow.
Lukaku flies into Lemina from behind and brings the midfielder crashing to the ground with a mistimed challenge, and it's one that earns him a late yellow card.
81'
A hopeful pass is fired into the United penalty area and towards Gabbiadini and Long, both of whom sprint towards the ball. They're unable to latch onto it, however, as Bailly is there to comfortably and calmly deal with the danger.

Description
79'
What an opportunity for Herrera to bag United's second goal! Lukaku, who has seen little of the ball since the break, flies into the left-hand side of the Southampton box and cuts a clever pass back to Herrera. The Spaniard is all alone on the edge of the penalty area and has time to settle himself before shooting, but his strike is far too powerful and sails over the top of the crossbar.
77'
Tadic goes inches away from equalising! Southampton move the ball around brilliantly just outside of the United penalty area before Tadic gets a shot away from the left-hand side of the box, but his low effort rolls just wide of the far post after beating De Gea.
75'
C. Smalling enters the game and replaces H. Mkhitaryan.
United have made a defensive switch as they try to hold on to their clean sheet, with Mkhitaryan making way for Chris Smalling.
74'
United certainly seem content to sit back and defend their slender lead for the final 15 minutes. Southampton are piling bodies forward but the visitors are doing well to frustrate them with plenty of strong and well-organised defending.
73'
M. Gabbiadini enters the game and replaces S. Davis.
With little over quarter of an hour left to play, Southampton have made a change, and it's an attacking one. Manolo Gabbiadini has come on to replace Davis to help out Long in front of goal.
72'
Tadic gets himself into a good position over on the right flank as he skips towards the corner flag. He then lifts a looping cross into the heart of the box, but De Gea is easily able to stretch and get a hand on the ball ahead of Long.
71'
Tadic manages to muscle his way into the left-hand side of the United penalty area as Southampton keep pushing forward. He then tries to carve out a pocket of space for himself as he attempts to shoot, but he's surrounded by black shirts and can't manage to do so.
69'
A. Valencia gets yellow.
Valencia clumsily catches Davis from behind with a mistimed sliding challenge, and he becomes the latest player to receive a booking.
68'
Southampton are enjoying a good spell of possession at the moment, and they're doing well to keep United pinned back inside their half of the pitch. This time it's Redmond who's able to get a shot away with a 25-yard strike, but De Gea is easily able to get down low to stop the effort.
67'
And now Southampton go close to scoring! Another dangerous corner from the home side flies into an excellent position and finds Romeu, who manages to get a head on the ball but can't guide his effort on goal past Fellaini inside the six-yard box.
65'
Huge chance for Lukaku to make it 2-0! Mkhitaryan charges towards the hosts' box after the Southampton midfield seems to totally disappear. He then sets up Lukaku with a deft pass to his right, but the Belgian can't beat Forster with his first-time shot and instead sees it get parried away from danger.
63'
A long pass is fired up to the edge of the Southampton penalty area and manages to pick out Lukaku. The striker brings the ball down well and quickly tees up Mkhitaryan, who shoots but can't get the better of Forster with his low, 20-yard effort.
62'
Ander Herrera enters the game and replaces Mata.
United have made their first substitution of the afternoon, with Ander Herrera coming on to replace Mata.
61'
Long goes down on the edge of the penalty area, but nothing is given! Slightly sloppy play by United in the middle of the pitch sets up the Irishman to charge forward, but he ends up going to the ground after tangling with Jones. The striker quickly appeals for a free-kick, but the referee isn't interested and waves play on.
60'
Chance for Long! Redmond dances his way down the left wing and into a good position near to the byline. He then floats a cross right onto the head of Long, who meets it well but can't hit the target with his headed effort from 10 yards out.
59'
Good play by Davis and Cedric deep down the right wing sets up the Portuguese to whip a cross into the United box, but Rashford is there to poke the ball behind for a corner that's comfortably dealt with by the visitors.
57'
Redmond has arguably been Southampton's best player this afternoon, and if the home side are to find a way back into the game, it looks as if it's going to come through him. He showcases good footwork over on the left flank as he cuts inside and shoots, but his low effort is well held by De Gea in the middle of the goal.
55'
An attempted Southampton attacking move breaks down, allowing United to counter quickly. Mata initially does well to wriggle past Romeu as he heads towards the penalty area, but the defensive midfielder then dispossesses his fellow Spaniard with a well-timed interception.
53'
Another hopeful long ball is fired deep into the Southampton half of the pitch and towards Lukaku, but once again Hoedt is easily able to get the better of the striker before clearing the danger without any problems.
51'
What a miss by Romeu! More good play by the home side results in another corner over on the right wing. It curls into a dangerous position and bounces over to Romeu, who somehow manages to poke his close-range effort wide of the goal from just a few yards out.
50'
Space opens up for Rashford as the youngster flies forward on a quick counter-attack. He then tries to set up Lukaku with a clever pass into the Southampton penalty area, but Hoedt is there to beat the Belgian to the ball at the vital moment.
48'
Southampton immediately go on the front foot and do well to win themselves a corner over on the right wing. It's swung in by Davis and finds Hoedt, who manages to get a head on the ball but that seems to roll his ankle slightly as he lands, leaving him in pain. He should be fine to continue, though.
46'
We're underway once again!
45' +2
Hoedt fires a lofted pass into the United penalty area and right onto the head of Long, who rises high above his marker but can't quite pick out a team-mate with a downward header towards the penalty spot.
45' +1
Vital interception by Hoedt! Fellaini wins back possession for United just inside the visitors' half of the pitch and quickly kick-starts a swift counter-attack. Mkhitaryan links up well with the Belgian and then tees up Lukaku to fire a low pass across the face of goal, but Hoedt is there to meet it ahead of Rashford with a sliding block.
45'
The fourth official has indicated that there will be two minutes of added time.
44'
In the end, they can't do much as the set-piece is comfortably dealt with by the United back line. Southampton started well and looked bright on the flanks, but since then they've struggled to cause too many problems for the visitors.
43'
A. Young gets yellow.
The referee's yellow card is out once again, and this time it's Young who's on the receiving end after catching Tadic with a mistimed challenge over on the right flank. What can Southampton do with this free-kick?
42'
Slightly sloppy play from Southampton gifts possession to Mkhitaryan, who quickly sets up Mata to fire a deflected cross behind for a corner. The set-piece is curled in towards the edge of the six-yard box, but the home side have plenty of bodies back to deal with the danger without too many problems.
40'
United lose out in the middle of the pitch and allow Southampton to counter-attack quickly. Lemina does well before Davis tries to pick out Bertrand inside the penalty area, but, despite his best efforts, the full-back can't quite latch onto the Northern Irishman's pass.
38'
Fellaini isn't moving very well but it looks as if he's going to be able to continue. United are temporarily down to 10 men as they try to break forward on a quick attack down the right wing, but Antonio Valencia isn't able to keep the ball in play and the attacking move fails to come to anything.
37'
S. Long gets yellow.
Ouch! Fellaini looks to be in a lot of pain after being caught from behind by Long. The United players aren't at all happy with the striker's cynical challenge, and he's eventually shown the first yellow card of the game.
35'
The corner is launched into the heart of the hosts' box and manages to pick out Fellaini, but the midfielder can't make decent contact with the ball and sends it looping up into the air and then straight into the hands of Forster.
34'
More good play from Mkhitaryan sees the Armenian burst into space just outside of the Southampton penalty area, but he has to settle for a corner after having the ball poked away from him by Yoshida.
32'
Mkhitaryan causes problems for the Southampton defenders as he darts into the home side's box and into a pocket of space in front of goal, but Hoedt dashes across the penalty area to blast the ball away from danger before the Armenian can get a shot away.
30'
Bertrand makes a clever run into the left-hand side of the United penalty area and plays a clever one-two with Davis. He then tries to cut a low pass across the face of goal, but he can't quite make decent contact with the ball and the danger is comfortably cleared by the visitors.
29'
Almost a chance for Nemanja Matic! The Serbian charges towards the Southampton box on a marauding run as he easily gets the better of the hosts' midfield. He then tries to pull off a quick one-two with Mata, but he has the ball poked away from him just as he's about to shoot.
28'
Thumping strike by Redmond! Cedric does really well to get the better of two United players before swinging a dangerous cross into the visitors' box. It finds Long and sets up the striker to chest the ball down to Redmond, who quickly shoots but can't find a way past Bailly with his fierce effort on goal.
26'
Rashford almost makes it 2-0! Yoshida clumsily catches Juan Mata from behind, leaving the referee with no choice but to award United a free-kick 25 yards away from the Southampton goal. Rashford steps up and shoots, but his strike fizzes just inches wide of the near post.
24'
A well-placed cross from Cedric Soares isn't fully dealt with by Bailly and bounces out to Ryan Bertrand. The full-back takes a quick touch and then shoots, but his low effort lacks the power needed to trouble David De Gea and is easily cleared.
22'
A lofted pass is fired up towards the edge of the United penalty area and manages to pick out Long, but the striker is slightly too heavy-handed as he tangles with Eric Bailly and ends up conceding a free-kick before he can latch onto the ball.
20'
R. Lukaku has scored a goal for Manchester United!
GOAL! United take the lead! Ashley Young holds up the ball deep down the left flank before curling a lovely cross into the heart of the box, where it finds Lukaku. The Belgian rises high and forces Forster into making a smart save, and he's then able to fire in a rebound to put his team 1-0 up.
19'
It's been an even start to the game, with both sides enjoying decent periods of possession inside the final third of the pitch. United have arguably been on top, however, and it's they who look the most likely to open the scoring.
17'
Romelu Lukaku charges down the left wing and does well to latch onto a clever pass forward. He then cuts inside and beats Maya Yoshida before setting up Mkhitaryan, who tries to fizz a low pass across the face of goal but can't get the better of Hoedt at the near post.
15'
Fancy footwork from Mario Lemina sets up the Gabonese midfielder to swing in a cross from deep down the right flank, but it's slightly overhit and sails behind for a goal-kick before it can pick out a team-mate in front of goal.
13'
Long is clipped from behind by Fellaini, and Southampton are awarded a free-kick just inside the United half of the pitch. It's sent short and eventually worked over to Steven Davis, who's immediately put under pressure and has to send the ball all the way back to Hoedt.
11'
A swinging United corner curls into the heart of the Southampton penalty area and looks set to find Fellaini, who goes down after tangling with Wesley Hoedt. There's a half-hearted penalty appeal from the Belgian, but the referee instead awards a free-kick to the hosts for shirt pulling.
9'
Redmond goes close! More good play by the winger over on the left flank results in a corner for Southampton that causes problems for United. It isn't fully dealt with by Marouane Fellaini and bounces to Redmond, who quickly shoots but ends up sending his first-time strike just wide of the far post.
7'
Marcus Rashford weaves his way into the left-hand side of the Southampton box on a clever run, but Oriol Romeu is there to poke the ball behind for a corner that fails to result in a chance on goal for the visitors.
5'
United then embark on a counter-attack of their own after successfully dealing with the danger, but Henrikh Mkhitaryan can't get the better of Fraser Forster with his low shot from 25 yards out and sends his effort rolling into the hands of the goalkeeper.
4'
Slightly sloppy play by United gifts possession to Dusan Tadic, who then bursts forward on a quick run through the middle of the pitch. The Serbian does well to reach the penalty area, but he's put under pressure by a group of black shirts and loses his footing before he can shoot.
3'
After an even start to the game from both sides, Nathan Redmond fires in a cross from the left flank. It's well hit by the Southampton winger, but Phil Jones is there to clear the ball away from danger before it can find Shane Long in front of goal.
1'
We're off! Southampton get us underway, attacking from right to left.
Good afternoon and welcome to our live text commentary of today’s Premier League game between Southampton and Manchester United at St. Mary’s Stadium.
It’s been a decent enough start to life in England for Mauricio Pellegrino, who has managed to guide his side to two wins and two draws from their opening five Premier League fixtures. Only Watford have managed to get the better of Southampton so far, but they’ve struggled to find as much joy as they’d like in front of goal and now face their toughest test of the campaign.
Romelu Lukaku has scored more goals this season than the entire Southampton team, and it’s an area that’s starting to concern those at the club. Bar a blip against Watford, the Saints have remained relatively solid at the back and have done well to control games in midfield, but their lack of firepower up front is something that could prove to be an important factor in today’s big clash.
As for United, it’s been a near-perfect start to the campaign for them, and they head into this afternoon’s game with the opportunity to go top of the table if they’re able to better Manchester City’s result against Crystal Palace. Scoring goals certainly hasn’t been a problem for the Red Devils, and they already have 16 to their name thanks to some seriously impressive play in the final third of the pitch.
It hasn’t been entirely plain sailing for United, however, and the frustrating 2-2 draw away to Stoke City in their last away game will no doubt be at least partly on their minds today. They came slightly unstuck against the Potters and had to settle for a point, but they did bounce back in perfect fashion with a comfortable 4-0 thrashing of Everton in their next league outing.
There’s just under 15 minutes left to go until kick-off, so let’s have a look at how the two teams will be lining up this afternoon…
Manchester United substitutes: Romero, Blind, Smalling, Carrick, Herrera, Lingard, Martial.
Manchester United XI (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Valencia, Bailly, Jones, Young; Fellaini, Matic; Mata, Mkhitaryan, Rashford; Lukaku.
Southampton substitutes: McCarthy, Pied, Van Dijk, Hojbjerg, Ward-Prowse, Gabbiadini, Austin.
Both managers have decided to name unchanged sides to the ones that started their last league games, with Shane Long and Romelu Lukaku leading their respective lines. The Southampton striker is still searching for his first Premier League goal since February.
The two sides are making their way out onto the pitch, with just a few minutes to go until kick-off.
HALF-TIME: SOUTHAMPTON 0-1 MANCHESTER UNITED
So far, so good for United, who haven't created too many chances in front of goal but nonetheless deserve to head into the half-time break with a slender lead. Southampton have largely defended well thus far but have struggled to cause many problems for the visitors, with De Gea rarely being called into action between the sticks.
The two teams are making their way back out on to the pitch ahead of the start of the second half. Neither side have made any substitutions during the half-time break.
FULL-TIME: SOUTHAMPTON 0-1 MANCHESTER UNITED
It was a vintage Mourinho performance today, and it's one that keeps United equal on points with Manchester City at the top of the table. They let Southampton dominate possession for most of the afternoon and sat back, where they defended excellently to continually frustrate the home side, who piled bodies forward throughout but just couldn't carve out many decent chances on goal.
