We're underway at Wembley.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the friendly clash between England and Spain at Wembley Stadium.
England were far from impressive in their win over Scotland last week, although they did enough to overcome Gordon Strachan's men to strengthen their grip on top spot of World Cup qualifying Group F. Gareth Southgate's audition for the permanent managers' job with the Three Lions continues tonight with a tougher task against Spain.
Julen Lopetegui's side put in a strong performance in their 4-0 victory over Macedonia at the weekend. La Roja are unbeaten since their defeat to Italy at Euro 2016, boasting an impressive win over Belgium in their five matches since the tournament.
Spain are not the dominant outfit that lifted the World Cup in 2010, but still have enough quality througout their side to give the Three Lions a whole host of problems this evening. This should be an intriguing contest for both teams and managers.
The team news has been announced and we'll start with the home side.
England have made three changes from their side that defeated Scotland. Wayne Rooney's withdrawal has seen the captain's armband passed to Jordan Henderson, while Jesse Lingard takes his place in the starting line-up. Nathaniel Clyne and Jamie Vardy also come into the side to replace Kyle Walker and Daniel Sturridge.
Lopetegui has made five changes to his team that beat Macedonia at the weekend. Pepe Reina replaces David de Gea between the sticks, while Cesar Azpilicueta and Inigo Martinez come into the back four. Juan Mata and Aritz Aduriz also get the nod to start in the midfield and up front respectively.
The last meeting between England and Spain came almost to the day last year when La Roja triumphed 2-0 at the Estadio Jose Rico Perez thanks to goals from Mario Gaspar and Santi Cazorla.
The players are out on the pitch so we should be underway shortly.
HALF-TIME: ENGLAND 1-0 SPAIN
England take a 1-0 lead into the break thanks to Adam Lallana's strike from the penalty spot. The Three Lions have been the better of the two sides, although neither has been able to carve out a clear-cut opening in front of goal other than the spot-kick. Both managers will want to see more from their teams after the interval.
FULL-TIME: ENGLAND 2-2 SPAIN
Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
England throw away a two-goal lead in the dying minutes of the contest as Spain come from behind to snatch a draw. Goals from Adam Lallana and Jamie Vardy put the Three Lions in command and it looked to be enough to secure the win. However, Iago Aspas and Isco brought La Roja back to deny the home side the win.
