Hello and welcome to our LIVE match commentary of the Premier League clash between Watford and Southampton at Vicarage Road.
Despite their strong start to the season, Watford have struggled with only one victory in their last nine games which came against Leicester City on Boxing Day. However, they have dropped just two places in the Premier League during that period. The Hornets sit tenth on 25 points in the table, however, Stoke who occupy the first relegation place in 18th position, have only five points fewer.
Southampton are winless in their last nine games, a poor run which has put a lot of pressure on manager Mauricio Pellegrino. They are outside the relegation zone, but only on goal difference as they have 20 points, the same as Stoke.
Watford won the reverse fixture 2-0 at St Mary's in September when Abdoulaye Doucoure and Daryl Janmaat scored, which was this was the visitors' only victory in the last six top-flight meetings between the two.
The hosts will be boosted by the return of captain Troy Deeney, who is back available in the Premier League for the first time since serving a four-match ban. Whilst for the Saints, Wesley Hoedt, Cedric Soares and Jeremy Pied have all returned to training after injuries and could be involved. today, but Charlie Austin remains out with a hamstring injury.
TEAM NEWS: Following their FA Cup triumphs last weekend, there have been a couple of changes for both teams. Marco Silva makes three changes to his Watford side as Watson, Richarlison and Gray come in for Capoue, Pereyra and Deeney. Meanwhile for the Saints, Pellegrino has mixed things up at the back by replacing Bednarek and Yoshida with Soares and Hoedt, while Tadic comes in for Boufal further up the pitch.
