SALZBURG CHANCE! The hosts should be out of sight by now! They break forward on the counter, Berisha opts to go for goal himself but his shot is blocked by the sliding Zagadou, the ball is picked up by Haidara, but he smashes his effort high into the stands.
57'
CHANCE! The ball fell perfectly for Schmelzer on the edge of the area, it was at a great height for a volley, but the skippers effort is straight at the Salzburg keeper! Either side of Walke and it looked to be heading into the back of the net. Best chance of the game for the visitors.
55'
Salzburg have a free-kick in a decent position here, after Dahoud lost the ball and then fouled Samassékou after trying to win it back. The ball is whipped into the penalty area, looking for players at the far post. However, they is slightly too much height on the ball and it drifts out of play.

Dortmund are yet to muster a shot tonight, seen as they need to score twice to win here, they'll need to change that soon, but they have been second best for large periods of this first half.
41'
There isn't long left until the break now, can either side get on the scoresheet before the half-time whistle? Salzburg still look the more likely side to do so, with Burki by far the busier of the two goalkeepers.
39'
We have a stoppage in play here as Batshuayi is down in the Salzburg penalty area after a coming together with Ramalho. It looks like the striker is going to be fine to continue.
36'
First sight of geniune danger from the visitors. Reus dribbles through on goal, gets into the penalty area, but just as he's looking to unleash a shot, he loses his footing and Salzburg manage to clear the ball.
35'
Salzburg’s last Europa League defeat came back in 2016, since then they have won nine and drawn five of their 14 games. At home they have won five of their last six in the competition, and with that run including victories against the likes of Schalke, Marseille, and Real Sociedad.

Dabbur and Hwang are really causing the Dortmund defensive problems, they are chasing down every ball and not giving the German side any time and space when in possession. Salzburg will be very happy with their performance so far, they have been the more dangerous side in attack.
23'
STAT: The first leg was Dortmund's first ever defeat against an Austrian side, it was also Salzburg's first win in Germany at the fifth attempt. Furthermore, Dortmund have a 100% winning record in two European games on Austrian soil.
21'
CHANCE SALZBURG! Once again it comes from a Dortmund mistake deep in their own half. Sokratis played a square ball to his fellow centre-back Zagadou, who misread the pace of the ball and it allowed Hwang to nick the ball way and sprint through on goal. Zagadou did well to get back alongside the striker and force him wide, making his effort come from a tight angle which Burki saved at his near post. The resulting corner comes to nothing.
18'
The chance early on for Hwang is still the only goalscoring opportunity we have seen here so far, neither goalkeeper has been busy, other than the occasional pass. Neither side are creating anything going forward, struggling to get going.
16'
There isn't much between the two sides at the moment, Dortmund are enjoying more possession but it is all either in their own half or the middle of the pitch, they are struggling to get near the final third of the pitch. Salzburg seem quite happy to let them have the ball in these areas, away from the dangerzone.

The impressive front men of Dortmund have struggled to get involved in the game so far, the likes of Reus and Gotze have barely touched the ball, due to good pressure and defending from Salzburg.

Dortmund have conceded the ball at the back a few times already tonight and Salzburg are eager to pounce on every mistake. The home side look full of confidence, allowing Dortmund to have the ball in their own half and then putting them under good pressure once they go past the halfway line.
6'
CHANCE SALZBURG! Dortmund gave away possession far too easily inside their own half and Salzburg broke forward with pace. The ball is eventually played to Hwang inside the penalty are and from a tight angle he fires a low shot at goal, however Burki is quick off his line and makes a very good save. Early warning for Dortmund.

We're underway!
Good evening and welcome to our LIVE match commentary of the Europa League clash between Red Bull Salzburg and Borussia Dortmund.
Salzburg gained an unlikely victory last week, coming away with a 2-1 win away at Dortmund to give themselves a huge advantage of securing their place in the next round of the Europa League.
Valon Berisha netted two goals just after half time to put them in a commanding lead, before Andre Schurrle pulled one back after the break for Dortmund. Salzburg followed this result up with a 2-2 draw at Mattersburg on Sunday, which puts them eight points clear at the top of the Austrian Bundesliga.
Borussia Dortmund have endured a difficult season, they are currently 21 points adrift of Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga and occupy third spot. They are fresh off a 3-2 win over Frankfurt last weekend. However, the side have drawn three, won one and drawn one in their last five games in all competitions.
Dortmund exited the Champions League in the group stage, they are out of the DFB Pokal as well, which leaves Europa League success their only chance of silverware this season. They have a strong squad available for selection tonight with Marco Reus coming back into good form following a long spell on the sidelines. Michy Batshuayi and Sokratis were dropped to the bench at the weekend, but both are expected to be in the starting XI tonight.

HALF-TIME: SALZBURG 0-0 DORTMUND (AGGREGATE 2-1)
An opening 45 minutes of football that has lacked chances and quality. Despite needing to score twice here, Dortmund haven't mustered a shot on goal yet and the best chances of the game have fallen to the home side, with Dortmund having Burki to thank for still being level tonight.
FULL-TIME: SALZBURG 0-0 DORTMUND (AGGREGATE 2-1). Salzburg are through to the Europa League quarter-finals!
Salazburg put in two very impressive performances over the two legs, to book their place in the next round and become the first Austrian club to reached the last eight of the Europa League. The home side had plenty of chances tonight to wrap up the victory, but a solid defensive display did the job, keeping a below-par Dortmund at bay.
