There'll be two more minutes of this. Vydra's header was probably the Czechs' chance to get a draw out of this game but they've been better in this second half.
89'
The Czechs continue to pepper Germany's goal as Soucek is next to fire off-target from range. Low is understandably looking a little frustrated.
88'
Darida arrives late on the scene to blast an effort against a Germany defender as the hosts struggle to clear a cross from the right. Germany look to counter but it doesn't work out.
86'
The Czechs sense they could cause a late shock now as Vydra drags a shot wide. Germany have been in second gear throughout this second half.
84'
Tah ventures forward from centre-back and goes straight for goal, stinging the hands of Pavlenka. Pavlenka can only push it away but there's no one close in German colours to capitalise.
80'
Any energy or intrigue that was in this game has dissipated now and has been replaced with mild curiosity. Neuhaus has another shot blocked in the box, as does Dahoud. Germany win a corner off Soucek which the Czechs clear.
78'
Z. Ondrášek enters the game and replaces J. Kopic.
Czech Republic substitution. Kopic makes way for Ondrasek.
76'
T. Souček gets yellow.
Soucek is booked for a suspect challenge on Brandt.
75'
Darida's shot from outside the box is blocked and Jankto floats his follow-up wide from a similar distance. We might still have a game here after all.
Minute
Description
73'
The Czechs are still halfheartedly going for an equaliser. Holes has an attempt from long range that is nowhere near.
71'
There's not been very much going on for the past 10 minutes. Germany keep trying to pick the lock but are finding it harder than they did in the first half. Darida wins a free-kick down the left as Tah fouls him. Soucek heads high and wide from Darida's cross.
70'
Max's game is over. He's certainly caught the eye in his first start for Germany. Schulz replaces him.
69'
V. Darida enters the game and replaces B. Dočkal.
N. Schulz enters the game and replaces P. Max.
Next on for the Czechs is the Hertha Berlin midfielder Darida. He's on for Dockal.
68'
A. Král enters the game and replaces A. Barák.
The Czechs make two more changes. The 22-year-old midfielder Kral is on. Barak goes off for him.
66'
The Czech Republic get caught upfield and Max looks to find Amiri with a curling ball behind the visitors' defence. It nearly comes off but not quite.
64'
Dahoud looks to set Brandt free down the left-hand channel but there's just a bit too much power on his pass. Dahoud's done well since coming on.
62'
If this were a competitive fixture the Czechs would be a touch more urgent in their play, given they're still a goal behind. As it isn't, they're not.
58'
Germany win a free-kick at the base of their midfield and take it quickly. Neuhaus skips through midfield and decides to go it alone, dragging a shot wide of the right-hand post.
56'
Amiri is caught offside from Koch's throughball. Germany haven't really gotten going yet this half, not that they've needed to.
55'
Soucek ghosts into the box and heads at goal from Dockal's cross despite Koch's attempts to put him off. Trapp has it covered.
54'
Rudiger makes amends by heading away the free-kick. There was a whiff of handball about Amiri's corner a moment ago, by the way, but the officials didn't spot it.
52'
Kopic breaks down the right for the Czechs and beats Rudiger to the ball. Rudiger promptly fouls the winger. It'll be a Czech free-kick.
50'
Brabec concedes a corner down Germany's left. Amiri's delivery in isn't great and is cleared easily.
48'
The Czechs start the second half brightly as Dokal fires at Trapp from the right of the box. It's a comfortable save for Trapp but it bodes well for the visitors.
46'
J. Jankto enters the game and replaces V. Černý.
M. Vydra enters the game and replaces M. Krmenčík.
T. Souček enters the game and replaces F. Novák.
Mahmoud Dahoud enters the game and replaces İ. Gündoğan.
Meanwhile the Czech Republic make three changes. Jankto is on for the anonymous Cerny.
The last change for the Czechs is up front. Burnley's Vydra is on for Krmencik.
Soucek, goalscorer for West Ham United this past weekend, replaces Novak.
Germany make a substitution at half-time. The Borussia Dortmund midfielder Dahoud is on for Gundogan.
The second half gets underway. How will that raft of substitutions impact things?
45' +2
HALF-TIME: GERMANY 1-0 CZECH REPUBLIC
45'
There'll be two added minutes in this first half.
44'
While they're still only a goal down the Czechs have belief. Kopic fires wide of the right-hand post from a tight angle on the left.
40'
Kopic keeps a pass in play near the corner flag for the Czech Republic and gets into the box to head Mateju's cross at goal. Trapp comes across to his near post to save it.
38'
The Czechs have been second best in this first half but are having their moments. Dockal tries to find Krmencik with a deep cross but can't beat Rudiger.
36'
Baku flings another cross into the box from the right. It's punted clear. Max is next to have a try as he volleys the ball into the centre. Pavlenka has no one near him to prevent him from gathering it.
35'
Germany win a corner down their right which Max will take. Max swings it in with his left foot but it doesn't beat the first Czech defender.
33'
Germany look very comfortable as things stand. The Czechs aren't able to do much except close the hosts down and try to force a mistake.
32'
Now the Czechs present Brandt with a gilt-edged chance with a rogue pass across their backline! Brandt has only Pavlenka to beat but blazes over! Low claps his hands in frustration from his seat.
30'
The Czechs are getting forward on the counter when they can, which isn't often at the moment. Kopic knocks the ball past Rudiger in an attempt to beat him in a race but only succeeds in putting the ball out for a throw-in.
24'
Max almost finds Waldschmidt with a defence-splitting throughball behind the Czech's high line. Pavlenka rushes out to clear it but Waldschmidt is just offside anyway.
22'
Krmencik gets sight of goal from the left edge of the box and lets rip. The Club Brugge striker's effort is straight at Trapp though and the German keeper handles it well.
21'
The Bayer Leverkusen player Amiri comes on to replace the stricken Hofmann. It's unfortunate for Hofmann who would no doubt have been keen to impress.
20'
N. Amiri enters the game and replaces J. Hofmann.
19'
Hofmann leaves the pitch temporarily for treatment but is soon able to come back on. Meanwhile, the Czech push Germany back into their own box with Rudiger clearing a cross from Barak.
17'
The Czechs win a corner down their left as Waldschmidt comes back to defend. Dockal comes across to take it and Germany clear it without any fuss.
15'
The Czech Republic can consider themselves slightly unlucky to be behind as they've started the game reasonably well. There's still plenty of time for them to show what they can do though.
13'
L. Waldschmidt has scored a goal for Germany! Assist by P. Max.
That's Max's first assist for Germany on his first start. The 27-year-old PSV Eindhoven left-back has been waiting for his chance to represent his country and certainly did his cause no harm there.
GOAL! GERMANY 1-0 CZECH REPUBLIC! Germany take an early lead. A great crossfield ball finds Baku in space down the right. Baku cuts back to Neuhaus who forces a save from Pavlenka. However, Pavlenka can only push the shot out to Max who finds Waldschmidt for the tap-in.
11'
Krmencik races through on goal after a throughball sends him away. The Leeds United defender Koch is on hand to sweep up and clear the ball away before Krmencik can shoot.
9'
Germany are on the front foot in these early stages. Hofmann sends a pass into the penalty area for Waldschmidt, only for the Czech defence to cut it out.
7'
Hofmann wins a free-kick in the Czech Republic's half as he's fouled by the evocatively named Holes. The Czech midfielder will be hoping not to leave any, uh, gaps behind him here.
5'
The Czechs show their intent early on. Mateju rolls the ball into the box for Dockal who hits the side netting from a tight angle.
3'
Germany go on the attack down their right through Brandt. The Borussia Dortmund winger's cross into the box isn't the right one though and the Czech Republic clear.
1'
The Latvian referee Andris Treimanis blows his whistle and gets this game underway!
Hello! Welcome to our live text commentary of this international friendly match between Germany and the Czech Republic at the RB Arena, Leipzig.
While some might sniff at an international friendly during a global pandemic, Germany boss Joachim Low will be keen to use this opportunity to try out some new players ahead of his side's UEFA Nations League matches with Ukraine and Spain. A bit of new blood might be of help to the hosts, who have drawn four of their last five matches.
Germany's visitors today are neighbours the Czech Republic, whose squad was stricken by COVID-19 during the last international break. Jaroslav Silhavy will be hoping to draw on some of his more experienced players this time around as they prepare to fight Scotland to finish top of their Nations League group.
GERMANY (3-4-3): Kevin Trapp; Jonathan Tah, Robin Koch, Antonio Rudiger; Ridle Baku, Florian Neuhaus, Ilkay Gundogan (c), Philipp Max; Jonas Hofmann, Gian-Luca Waldschmidt, Julian Brandt.

The two sides are out on the pitch in Leipzig. Germany are playing in their familiar white shirts and black shorts. Czech Republic are wearing all red.
It's on to more serious stuff for both sides, then. They'll be content with what has been a decent workout but Germany have work to do before they face Ukraine. That's all for now. Goodbye!
