Salzburg's last-gasp 1-0 win over Roma last week has put them in pole position to qualify for the Europa League round of 16. History bodes well for the Austrians, as they have progressed from five of their last six two-legged knockout ties in major European competition when winning the first leg.
Jose Mourinho's Roma can easily turn around a one-goal deficit though, especially at the Stadio Olimpico. The Italians are unbeaten in their last 13 home games in European knockout stages, and have progressed from three of their last five such ties when losing the first leg.
